Casala Award Win
Casala won the award for Sustainable Entrepreneurship at the award ceremony for "Entrepreneur of the Year".
According to the jury report Casala owes the Award to its customer-focussed approach and the environmentally conscious manner in which innovative solutions are built. Casala's groundbreaking activities can be seen as an inspiration for the entrepreneur of today, according to the jury president solicitor Bernard Aitton.
For Casala, the Award is a confirmation of its activities in recent years in which Casala successfully launched products and concepts with a strong sense of functionality, design and environmental awareness. Currently many products and parts of Casala are made of recycled materials.

UCI Launch Their New & Improved Website

UCI Launch the Acuity Chair
UCI is excited to bring Acuity to Australian shores. Designed by Allsteel in collaboration with Bruce Fifield of Design Continuum Italia, Acuity features a conforming mesh back and carrier combination that adapts by flexing to the user's shape so he/she stays in contact with the chair throughout an entire range of motion. Acuity is a breakthrough in seating design and comfort and is backed by Allsteel's Lifetime Warranty.
New Fitout by UCI WA
The Fitout, by IA Group, was for Kvaerner Oil & Gas in Perth and included UCI products Zodiac screens, Paradigm workstations, mobile pedestals and custom tambour units with planter boxes.
UCI was able to assist in creating a flexible workspace for Kvaerner's team, while delivering on time, quality and budget.
Taskair Featured in FM Magazine
UCI's Taskair workstation system is featured in the current edition of FM Magazine. The article, titled Bringing Microclimate Control to Workstations, spans five pages of the magazine and references Thomas Adsett Architects and UCI Brisbane's fitout for the Port of Brisbane, in which Taskair was specified.
UCI QLD Charity Golf Day
UCI was proud to hold the 6th Annual UCI Charity Golf Day at Indooroopilly Golf Club. The event attracted 90 attendees, such as Lyons Judge, Flower and Heart, Furniture Concepts, Walton Constructions, Special Olympics and OSD Pipelines. The day was a huge success, raising $18,000.00 with the help from all the players and key sponsors Waltons, Furniture Concepts, GWB Engineering and BP Refinery.
Participants had a chance at winning great raffle prizes including a UCI Phase chair, a Tangalooma Resort gourmet weekend, 4 x platinum passes for the Suncorp Stadium Brisbane Roar game and 2 bottles of wine, a cook book and nibble pack.
The winning team prize was 4 x UCI Visconte chairs, the runners up won a free round of golf, the Hole in One prize was a Fat Boy Harley Davidson and the Longest and Straightest Drive winner received a free round of golf and a $100 Gift Voucher.
Prizes were donated by; UCI, GB, SOQ, IGC, Soubert Pink, Happy Café & Car wash, Prague Furniture, Flight Centre, Brisbane Roar, and Gasoline Ally.
UCI Team Member Completes Sydney to the Gong
James Gilmore, from UCI's NSW office completed the 'Sydney to the Gong' fundraising bike ride on 6th November.
The ride is 90km, from Sydney to Wollongong and raises money for MS Australia, supporting the people living with MS and their families. The day was a huge success raising around $3.8M. Well done James!

UCI Completes Fitout for University of Queensland
UCI worked in collaboration with Design Nest to adapt our Liquid workstation system to suit this specialised project at the Colin Clark Library Building, University of QLD.
Translucent acrylic dividers and overhead hampers were incorporated into the main reference area, which was designed to allow students access to computers and literature with fluid seating arrangements.
The highlight of the fitout was UCI's custom-made E-Zone workstation pod. Bringing to fruition the designer's brief, UCI created the specialised 30-seat workstation pod with our Liquid workstation system.
Taskair Award Win
Taskair was the only non-American Company to win one of the prestigious NeoCon Awards this year. It was awarded for Innovation in the Workstation and Accessories category. Taskair attracted a lot of attention at the exhibition and was the Feature story in MMQB, (the industry's on line magazine) on opening day at NeoCon.
