Introducing the CBD6 ZERO™ Control Box
June 2011
UCI is pleased to announce the release of the newest product from LINAK, the CBD6 control box for LINAK DESKLINE® systems.
UCI uses this control box on its sit to stand range (Paradigm & Infinity desk systems).
The advantage, besides offering ZERO™ stand-by consumption this control box also offers some all new unique features and functionalities. The main difference provided with the CBD6 is in its design.
The CBD6 is very compact and has a height of just 46mm. This is the same height as their motor housings on the DL and DB range of products, ensuring a compact and clean desk design, providing even more leg space underneath the desk as requested by the future EN527-1 legislation (Europe Standards).
Another hallmark of the CBD6 is the design of the actual box itself, which has 2 grooves in the bottom, providing a much sleeker cable management system.
The CBD6 has the following features
- 180W transformer
- 2 channels (for either single drive or 2 parallel drive)
- Available in either 230V or 120V
- ZERO™ as standard (0.1W stand-by consumption)

UCI’s workstation screens now better for the environment
April 2011
The Laminex Group supplies UCI with the raw material for our workstation screen panels.
As a market leader, Laminex takes their environmental responsibility very seriously and has therefore made the choice to reduce the formaldehyde in their LPM (Low Pressure Melamine) MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) products to demonstrate this commitment to leadership and the environment.
The physical properties and quality of the panels will remain the same; the only difference is the level of formaldehyde emissions.
UCI proudly supports this change as part of our responsibility to respect and protect the environment.
UCI's New Manufacturing Machines
March 2011
UCI WA's 1954 Chevrolet series 1100 delivery truck which has recently been completed. It runs a 350 Corvette engine & transmission and runs on LPG gas only. Interestingly although Chevrolet is from the USA this vehicle was manufactured in Australia, under license, by GM Holden.
Apart from the obvious image related benefits it is very practical. UCI WA often do CBD fitouts where the products are loaded into the building through the basement, limiting the vehicle height to around 2.1 metres. Modern trucks with a reasonably large tray are unable to meet the height restriction but this baby does!

Amada's new AE-NT series machines give UCI the opportunity to affordably take advantage of the many newer processing capabilities available in punching — along with the additional benefits of a machine that is both environmentally-friendly and costs significantly less to operate and maintain than some older technologies.
